The Victoria Lefkada Town

LEFKADA

Of all the beautiful Ionian Islands, Lefkada is admittedly the most easily accessible. It is connected to the mainland by a bridge, thus making the drive from Aktio Airport only 15 minutes. You might have heard of our island, as its beaches and scenery are world-famous. Porto Katsiki and Egremni, for example, are two of the most magnificent beaches in Europe and known all over the world. However, you can do a lot more than just swim, while in Lefkada. There is a range of activities you can try, such as windsurfing or kitesurfing. If you are feeling adventurous, you can even go scuba diving.

Apart from the beautiful beaches, Lefkada has many villages hidden on its mountains. A different kind of charm awaits you there, with the locals ready to welcome you.

For the history enthusiast, it is worthwhile to visit some of the museums in the town centre or simply walk through the alleys of the town admiring the simple architecture of some traditional houses that remain.

The town centre is only a 5-minute walk from The Victoria Lefkada, so you will not need a car to visit the restaurants and shops of the town. The closest beach to our hotel is Agios Ioannis, which is just 2 km away, perfect for a quick swim or to see the stunning sunset. Should you want to try kite-surfing or windsurfing, Agios Ioannis provides the ideal waves and wind for such an endeavor.

LEFKADA BEACHES

Porto Katsiki (60 minutes by car)
Family Friendly, Parking, Partly Organized

One of the most famous beaches worldwide, Porto Katsiki is in the south-west of the island. It is known for its spectacular landscape and the stunning cool blue waters. Should you want to spend your day there, there are small canteens just over the beach, as well as pay parking.

Egremni (55 minutes, boat access only)
Family Friendly, Non Organized

Another famous beach, Egremni is probably one of the most breathtaking sceneries in the world. It is named after the awe-inspiring white cliffs surrounding it (Egremni=cliffs). Unfortunately, after the 2015 earthquake, the beach is only accessible by boat, which you can board at Nidri harbor.

Kathisma (25 minutes by car)
Family Friendly, Parking, Fully Organized

A 25-minute car ride will take you to this long sandy beach on the west coast of the island. Throughout your journey there, you will be able to enjoy the amazing view of the ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. While there, you can choose any of the many restaurants/cafes/ bars that are located along the beach. If you are keen on extreme sports, you also can go paragliding there.

Agios Nikitas & Milos (20 minutes by car)
Family Friendly, Partly Organized

Right before you reach Kathisma, you will pass through the picturesque fishing village of Agios Nikitas. Walking down the cobbled street, you will find a small bay encircled by white rocks where you can enjoy a swim in calm waters. Afterwards, have a bite or a drink in any of the many traditional restaurants and cafes. From there, a boat can take you to the secluded and much larger beach of Milos that is right next to the village over the hills. If you are active, however, you can opt for hiking to Milos; just make sure you are wearing sturdy shoes.

Agiofili (55 minutes by car)
Family Friendly, Organized

Agiofili is in the south of the island next to the village of Vasiliki. The pebbled beach leads to waters of various shades of blue, while in the distance you can see the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia. To get there, you can either use a car or take the boat from the port of Vassiliki which makes the short trip many times a day.

Megali Petra (35 minutes by car)
Family Friendly, Non Organized

Megali Petra is one of three amazing and serene beaches beneath Kalamitsi village. It is aptly named for the enormous rocks that are in the water in the surf. This untouched area is just the thing for a relaxing swim. The road from the village to the beach is a bit narrow, but the breathtaking view of the ocean on the one hand and the olive groves on the other more than make up for it.
